Learning about Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) was the turning point for Cats as an author/illustrator. She immediately wanted to help this Foundation by putting her art to good use. Cats joined a local group of volunteers and together they held information stalls at markets, visited many schools and spoke to primary aged children about the plight of the moon bears. That is where the idea of creating her own picture book came from. Children love teddy bears (as do adults!) and she wanted to create a cute and cuddly moon bear cub to encourage children and their parents to help AAF reach their goal of putting an end to bear bile farming in Asia.
